pretty pictures: one fine day

adore this 1960's-esque family themed photoshoot.  not just the styling, not just the background, not just the modeling or fantastic photography... but mostly because i see it & have MAJOR lifestyle envy!  i want to be the subject of the shoot - i want her life!  just take a look ::

fave fabulous photography:  pictures in the field - lovely; the title image by the pond - adore the wind effect
fave modeling:  that great pose against the red car where model eveline is putting on her shoe - great "caught in the act of something completely normal while looking completely glam" shot;
smiling, smiling, smiling!  we all know how i feel about models who are allowed to smile!! {exhibits: A, B, C, D ... wow my collection is growing!  awesome.}
fave fashion: long sleeve lace dress by lisa ho - in second pic (as well as the kissing-in-the-field one); unbelievably gorgeous burberry (obviously!) coat in that last image.
and... major lifestyle crush pics: well other than just saying "all," i suppose i can narrow it down to mostly the last two.  i'd love to be the lovely young model with the sweet husband, lil dog, and completely a-dor-a-ble daughter! 

all-in-all -- this photoshoot gets the "kait stamp of approval."  major time.

fashion: forever new a/w 2011

confession time: i had never heard of the australian brand forever new before i came across their autumn/winter 2011 collection on fashionising.  i immediately felt very in the dark because my-oh-my this style is my style!  what a treat!   i mean, the show started with ballerinas!  if that isn't perfectly "kait-esque," i don't know what is!

but anways, on to the main show - the fabulous fashion --

 pretty sure i need this soft rose jacket in my life.  i mean, that back tie-bow?  perfection.

friday faves: 3.11.11

friday again?  already??  i know that for nearly everyone, fridays are fantastic [*ahem* TGIF *ahem*].  but for me, fridays are sort of like my sundays.  sundays where you still have to work all day, and actually usually longer than most other days.  my store opens on the weekends, turning weekends into hot beds of stress, and fridays into anxiety-central.  i think that's why i do these "friday faves" posts -- to remind myself of beautiful, quirky, and clever things while i slave away at work, freaking out about the upcoming weekend.  

but enough about that.  here are this week's friday faves! ::

i'm a sucker for totes.  not so much expensive purses that should be in a museum and not on your arm... but totes? oh i love totes!  [even my fave marc jacobs purse is a fun little tote]  in high school i would buy a bunch of cheap canvas totes from the craft stores and then decorate them to match my fave outfits.

which is probably why i love this soft french lace tote so much :)

pretty without being stuffy, and would match most of what i own!
