Never Let Me Go

The other day I was kinda feeling to watch a movie but since there wasn't any new movie in the cinema yet, I decided to go dig up those DVDs that me and friend bought but haven't watch yet. I came across this movie Never Let Me Go. At first I thought it was some kinda sad love story or so on but had the urge to watch it as it had Keira Knightly!

 

She is so pretty and talented. Love to watch her take any roles as she could actually fall into the character perfectly! Anyways, coming back to the movie, below is the posters. 

 

These are 2 favorite posters from what I found. Anyways this movie was 1 movie that really touched me deeply. It talked about kids (not knowing how they ended up there) who grew up together in a boarding school but never know what is going out in the real world. 

As usual, below is the plot of the movie,

PLOT

The film begins with onscreen captions explaining that a medical breakthrough in 1952 has permitted the human lifespan to be extended beyond 100 years. Subsequently, the film is narrated by 28-year-old Kathy H. as she reminisces about her childhood at Hailsham, as well as her adult life after leaving the school.

The first section of the film depicts the young Kathy in 1978 onwards, along with her friends Tommy and Ruth, spending their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. Gradually, it is revealed that the children are imprisoned on the school grounds. At one point, one of the teachers quietly informs the pupils of their fate: they are destined to provide donor organs for transplants, and will die before they can fulfill their potential. The following day this teacher is "no longer working at Hailsham". It is not revealed whether she was fired or if something more sinister happened to her. As time continues to elapse, Tommy is emotionally fragile, and Kathy falls in love with him, but Ruth and Tommy begin a relationship. They stay together throughout the rest of their time at Hailsham.

In the second section of the film, the three friends, now teenagers, are rehoused in cottages on a rural farm. They are permitted to leave the grounds if they wish, but are resigned to their eventual fate, apparently seeing it as inevitable. At the farm, they meet former pupils of similar schools to theirs. It is revealed that Kathy and the others are all clones, and are fascinated by the idea of finding the original people that they were "modelled on". From the others at the cottages, Kathy and her friends hear rumours of the possibility of "deferral" - a temporary reprieve from organ donation for clones who are in love and can prove it. Tommy becomes convinced that The Gallery at Hailsham, where the children's art and poetry was kept, was intended to look into their souls. He believes that artwork sent to The Gallery will verify true love. The relationship between Tommy and Ruth becomes sexual, and jealousy causes Kathy and Ruth to break their friendship. The lonely Kathy applies to become a "carer" - a clone who is given a temporary reprieve from donation as a reward for supporting and comforting donors as they are made to give up their organs. She has become a carer by the time she hears that Tommy and Ruth have split up.

In the third and final section of the film, Kathy is working as a carer 10 years later. She has watched many clones gradually die as their organs are donated; their deaths are referred to as "completion". Kathy hasn't seen Ruth or Tommy since the Cottages, but just happens to find Ruth, who is frail after two donations, while working as a carer. They find Tommy, who is also weakened by his donations, and drive to the sea. There, Ruth admits that she did not love Tommy, and only seduced him because she was afraid to be alone. She is consumed with guilt, and has been searching for a way to help Tommy and Kathy. She believes that the rumours of "deferral" for couples are true, and has found the address of the gallery owner, Madame from Hailsham, whom she thinks may grant couples in love deferrals. Ruth dies on the operating table shortly afterward. Tommy explains to Kathy that he has been creating art in the hope that it will aid deferral. He and Kathy drive to visit Madame, who, it transpires, lives with the headmistress of Hailsham. The two teachers tell them that there is no such thing as deferral, and that Tommy's artworks will not help him. They also explain that the purpose of The Gallery was to see if clones have souls, and to challenge the ethics of the creation of donors; Hailsham was the last place to consider the ethical implications of the donor scheme. As they take in the news on their return journey, Tommy breaks down in an explosion of rage and frustration as Kathy resignedly accepts her fate.

The film ends with Tommy dying on the operating table, and Kathy left alone, knowing that her donations will begin in one month. Contemplating the ruins of her childhood, she asks in voice-over whether her fate is really any different from the people who will receive her organs: after all, "we all complete".

After watching the movie, I felt touched and really depressed. Could you imagine your life being that way? I really can't. All your life you are made to live for the sake of donating your organs to others not knowing who you are and where you come from. Practically nothing to life for other than donating you organs. 

The soundtracks were great as well. I heard the music and I felt the calm soothing yet the sorrow feel all in it. I really don't know how to put it but I would seriously suggest you guys to listen to it! 

Hope you guys like it. If you haven't watch this movie yet, go now to the nearest DVD shop and get it. I am sure you would see life differently after that. Atleast I do.

Source Code Reviewed!

Actually was trying to get a chance to watch this movie for some time but we hit a few snags hence we missed our chances till 1 day we finally made it! It was more like an unplanned visit to the cinema actually. So anyways, coming back to the movie, this time around am not really gonna talk about the plot but more to what I felt about the movie itself.

I seriously don't know who started the trend of movies which plays around with your mind. I remember Inception was a hot topic as it was something relating to mind games as well but this movie just flew into 1 of my favorite movies list too.

 

Though the start of the movie till I think almost half it was totally confusing and boring for my liking. Probably I didn't really understand the movie at all. I was really shocked with the appearance of Russell Peters in the movie! Man he was FAT! LMFAO!

 

Coming back to the main story, *clears throat* it seemed to get more and more interesting as the train ride was actually starting to flow with more and more intense as the time was passing. I honestly didn't know what to expect at all and from being dead tired, sleepy and all I became super awake! I was really excited to see what was going to happen!

The part where I felt the touch was when the main character finds out that he was dead. I often have wondered what would an afterlife would be though many have actually said it's not worth it to think about it and live life as it is. After this movie, I think I kinda felt the thought that probably I might be used as something like in this movie. Can't even think about it!

Human's mind is a terrible thing isn't it? It makes think all kinda things when they don't even exist! Overall, this movie was ok though loved the storyline. A little bit more effort and budget into the movie settings, it could have been even better. Think you got other thoughts about this movie? Do share it by commenting please.... =)

"RIO" reviewed!

So last Friday night I was called by a friend asking for movie. So we went for "RIO" after all the trailers have already got us very interested and drooling to watch it. Hence we went to watch over at 1 Utama. A place I've almost forgotten how it looks like cause haven't been there for ages! (excuse the exaggeration =P)

Rio is a 2011 3D computer-animated film and Blue Sky Studios's sixth feature film. The title refers to the Brazillian city of Rio de Janeiro, in which the film is set. It is directed by Carlos Saldanha. The characters are voiced by Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Rodrigo Santoro, Bebel Gilberto, Kate del Castillo, Jamie Foxx, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Jake T. Austin, Leslie Mann, Jemaine Clement, Jane Lynch, and Robin Thicke.


The movie's plot is as below!


Plot

Over several years, Linda (Leslie Mann) and Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) become great friends. 15 years later, Linda owns a bookstore and brings Blu to work with her. A scientist from Rio de Janeiro, Tulio, enters the store and tells Linda that Blu is the last male of the species of macaw, and he needs to take him to Rio de Janeiro, so that Blu can mate with a female to preserve the species. Eventually, Linda agrees.In a forest near the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, birds of various species happily fly, while a baby Spix's Macaw who cannot fly watches. Several of the birds are caged by smugglers, including the Macaw. They are taken to Moose Lake, Minnesota in the United States, during winter. Many birds are abandoned, including the baby macaw, who is placed on the street. A girl named Linda sees the abandoned bird and brings it to her house, promising to take care of him forever and naming him Blu.

Once there, Blu is placed in an oven suitable for mating, where he meets the female macaw, Jewel (Anne Hathaway). Blu falls for her and at first tries to kiss her, but she gets angry because she was only interested in escaping. Then the place is overrun by smugglers, who kidnap Blu and Jewel, chain them together and lock them in a cage. At one point Jewel opens the cage and tries to escape, but is blocked by a cockatoo named Nigel (Jermaine Clement), who belongs to the head of the smugglers. Among them also is Fernando (Jake T. Austin), a poor boy with no family, who only helps smugglers to earn some money, doing it against their will. Later, Jewel tries to escape again, with the help of Blu. As they flee, Nigel chases them through the slums of Rio De Janeiro. Just when Nigel is about to capture the macaws, he accidentally collides with the distribution transformer in the city, causing a blackout. After losing Nigel, Blu and Jewel get lost in the jungle, still near Rio de Janeiro. Jewel suggests they sleep on top of a tree, ask for help the next day, but says she prefers Blu sleep in something built by humans. They find a kiosk and they climb to the top (since Blu does not fly).

The next day they meet a family of toucans, including their father Rafael (George Lopez), who tries to teach Blu to fly, leading to the top of a mountain and saying that Blu has to believe in himself and feel with the heart. After all, Blu was unable to fly, and was saved after landing on top of hang-gliders and umbrellas. After that Blu sees many characters, including a marmoset, and a bulldog named Luiz (Tracy Morgan), a store chain saw professional, who broke the chain that connected the two. They also meet a Red-crested Cardinal named Pedro (Will.i.am) and his canary friend named Nico (Jamie Foxx) who wears a green and purple striped bottlecap as a hat. Taking place that week was Carnival in Rio de Janeiro and Blu would like to fly to enjoy the party, but cannot. Meanwhile, Linda is very sad to learn that she lost her beloved bird, and even gets mad at Tulio. The two spread disappearance of several posters around town and asks several people if they saw the bird. Being very sad knowing he can fly and enjoy Carnival with his new friends, Blu walks away going to find Linda. Rafael tries to cheer him up, encouraging him to be honest about his feelings. Blu then blurts out that he hates Sama, making his friends, especially Pedro and Nico, very unhappy. He continues walking away, while Jewel flies away aswell. Unfortunately later, Nigel finds Jewel and takes her and kidnaps her again, enraging and causing Blu to go after her.

The next morning, Fernando sees one of the posters that Linda put up and decides to look for them to say they know where the bird is. He takes the motorcycle to the place where the birds were arrested but have not found anything since they had fled. Linda then find evidence that the birds would be at a samba school at Carnival, but just as the school can enter, they dress as blue macaws. Linda appears atop a float during the carnival parade and must learn to samba. Later Blu reaches Jewel but hen is captured too by Nigel. Linda then realises Blu is being taken on a plane, and with the float they try to stop the flight, but were not successful. Linda gets very sad. During the flight, Blu devises a plan to break out of his cage. He is successful and helps the other birds out of the plane. They all fly away except for Jewel who knows Blu is afraid to leave because he still cant fly. Nigel then appears, holding down Blu and smashing a cage onto Jewel's wing, making her flightless. Blu manages to knock Nigel out of the plane with a fire extinguisher, blastig him out of the plane.

Jewel, now flightless, is suddenly knocked by another cage which pushes her out of the plane. Blu is shocked and his bravery soon overcomes him. Although he still cannot fly, he jumps out of the plane for Jewel. Capturing Jewel in his wings, she is suprised to see Blu go after her, and as they fall, Jewel kisses Blu. Blu is then suddenly overcomed by his heart, and he held out his wings, holding Jewel with his feet, and flew, saving him and Jewel. They then descend and return to Linda and Tulio.

The film ends showing a scene in the future showing Linda, Tulio and adopted Fernando as a family. Jewel is back into the wild, as she wanted, with her new husband Blu and their three children.

Not to forget the music for this movie was awesome! I couldn't stop grooving until got scolded by my friend. It left me half way hanging for a party! I would love to have the soundtracks given to me! *hints*

The Tourist

Well this movie has been out for quite some time but eventually I managed to finish watching the movie. Though I did hear way a lot of reviews from so many people that the movie sucked real big time, I just wanted to see for myself as I was just too curious.

It certainly did not disappoint me as my hopes for the movie was to suck and it did! LOL totally a big time waste and no story line as how I would like to put.

Well I am not sure if most of you people have watched this movie yet or not. Yet still I will add in the plot.


The Plot.
A woman named Elise (Jolie) is being trailed in Paris by French police working with Scotland Yard. At a cafe, she receives a letter from Alexander Pearce, a former lover, with explicit directions to board a train to Venice, Italy, pick out a man who resembles him and make the police believe that this man is Alexander Pearce. A mysterious stranger, not involved with the police, also seems to be watching Elise. Elise burns the letter and boards a train.
She takes a seat beside Frank (Depp), an American tourist reading a spy novel, who is instantly attracted to her. The train arrives in Venice, and they take a boat to the Hotel Danieli. At dinner, much to Frank's dismay, Elise admits to having feelings for another man, presumably Alexander Pearce. They share a kiss, witnessed by the men following her.
The next day, Frank awakens to find Elise gone. Men suddenly try to break into the hotel room. Frank barely escapes but is caught by the Italian police. A sympathetic detective listens to Frank's story that he does not know why these men are after him. He takes Frank from the jail and tells him that his story checks out, and that the men after him were Belarusians who have placed a prize on his head and who believe Frank to be someone else. The detective however then delivers Frank into the clutches of these same men, in order to collect the money they promised.
Elise appears suddenly to rescue Frank, fleeing on a boat. Elise finally tells Frank that all this is happening because she kissed him and made the police believe that he was Alexander Pearce. Frank learns that Pearce stole two billion from a gangster named Shaw (Steven Berkoff) and is wanted by the British government for tax evasion. Stunned by the news, Frank says he still does not regret kissing Elise.
Elise apologizes for getting him involved and tricks Frank off the boat. Frank says he loves her. Elise goes to a government building — where she works as a secret agent for Britain. She sees her fellow agent Acheson (Paul Bettany), who was among those following her in Paris. Elise had been assigned to investigate Pearce, but fell in love with him and had disappeared from her job. She tells Acheson that she is ready to help him find Pearce, because she wants to prevent anybody else from getting hurt.
Elise goes to a ball Pearce has invited her to attend, wearing a wire. She is handed a letter by the same mysterious stranger from Paris. The letter is from Pearce, saying where to meet him. As Elise turns to leave, Frank is standing in front of her. They dance. Elise leaves to find Pearce and agent Acheson's men apprehend Frank. They both watch on surveillance equipment as Elise walks into a trap set by the gangster Shaw. The gangster threatens to kill her unless she returns the money Pearce stole from him. Acheson doesn't help her, confident that Pearce will show up to rescue her.
Elise reveals the safe's location but does not know its code. Frank watches in horror as Elise is threatened yet again. Seeing that Acheson won't help Elise, Frank picks the lock to his handcuffs and escapes to help her. Frank pretends to be Pearce. Elise begs him to stop or he will be killed. Frank, acting as Pearce, tells Shaw that he will get his money but only if Elise is first released and safe. As Frank pretends that he is about to open the safe, Elise mouths "I love you."
All of a sudden, Chief Inspector Jones (Timothy Dalton) gives the order for the police snipers to shoot Shaw and his men. Frank and Elise are unharmed. As the police survey the scene, agent Acheson can't believe that Pearce did not save Elise and Jones is furious with him for exposing her to danger. Jones then informs Elise that she has been terminated from the force. A police report informs them that Pearce has just been caught. As the room clears, Elise and Frank embrace. He asks her if she loves both him and Alexander Pearce. Elise answers yes. To spare her from this dilemma, Frank reveals that he is the real Alexander Pearce by entering the correct code for the safe. Pearce had gotten plastic surgery, so he could have a new life.
The arrested man believed to be Pearce explains to police that he was paid to pretend and that he is just a tourist. Elise and Frank/Pearce leave on a boat with the money, finally being able to be together. In the safe, police find a bankers check for the ₤744 million in back taxes Pearce owed the British government.



Even the plot seems kinda confusing. Feels more like millions of dollars was wasted on giving Depp and Jolie a nice vacation in Venice rather than a movie. Damn! People are too rich at times they don't know what to do do they?


Even the Golden Globes made a mockery out of this movie. Despite its critical reception, the film was nominated for three Golden Globes: Best Musical or Comedy, Depp for Actor Musical or Comedy and Jolie for Actress Musical or Comedy.The fact that a film originally promoted as romantic thriller was nominated for the comedy or musical category garnered the film and the Golden Globes considerable mockery; when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) made the official announcement of nominees, the press room erupted with laughter. It was later revealed that the film was originally submitted by the studio as a drama, but von Donnersmarck then told the HFPA that the film should be categorized as a comedy. HFPA President Phil Berk noted that "Given the differing opinions, we asked the studio to screen the film for us in advance, and collectively, we decided that the elements of preposterous fun lent the film more to a comedy than a straight drama category."

Yet still the achievement that the movie made is quite suprising. As The Tourist opened at $16,472,458 on its first weekend at #2 spot behind The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It has grossed more than four times of its first weekend profits. As of 2/21/11, the film has grossed $67,276,023 domestically and (as of 2/27/11,) $183,800,000 internationally for a total of $258,631,157 worldwide.^[After its run, it will be Angelina Jolie's fourth most successful film (after Salt, Wanted and Mr. & Mrs. Smith), outgrossing Gone in 60 Seconds, The Bone Collector, the Lara Croft series and every other non-animated film she has starred in. It ranks as Johnny Depp's most successful film after the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, easily beating Sleepy Hollow and Public Enemies, nearly doubling the gross of Chocolat and Sweeney Todd and more than doubling the gross of Donnie Brasco.

Am seriously craving for more movies like Inception as the story just left us with a lot of question marks! Though it is annoying but that's what I expect from movies rather than some time and money wasting recording that's being showed just like this.

Grown Ups~!

The other day me and one of my good friends were supose to be hunting for our favourite satay when eventually we realized that due to Puasa, they are closed! So ended up going for nasi lemak ayam and then sudden plan for movie.

Apparently the only movie available was....

 

And it was 25th Night!!! I was so happy because I so wanted to watch this movie and I knew this wasn't a movie to be missed!

Story plot is below...

In 1978, five friends win their junior high basketball championship. During the celebration, their coach "Buzzer" (Blake Clark) encourages them to live their lives in a similar way to how they played the game.

32 years later, the five friends have since separated. Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler) is a high powered Hollywood talent agent who is married to Roxanne (Salma Hayek), a fashion designer. Together, they have two sons, Greg and Keith, and one daughter Becky, all of whom have become spoiled, much to Lenny's annoyance. Eric Lamonsoff (Kevin James) is now a co-owner of a lawn furniture company (but he says he is just to impress his friends) who is married to Sally (Maria Bello). Together, they have one daughter, Donna and one son Bean, who still breastfeeds despite being four years old, much to Eric's chagrin. Kurt McKenzie (Chris Rock) is a stay at home father who is married to Deanne (Maya Rudolph), the primary breadwinner of the family. Together, they have a son, Andre, and a daughter, Charlotte, while Deanne is pregnant with a third child, and her mother, Ronzoni, lives with them as well. All of them harass Kurt for not being more useful. Rob Hilliard (Rob Schneider) is a thrice divorced pacifist vegan married to Gloria (Joyce Van Patten), who is 30 years older than him. Marcus Higgins (David Spade) has become a single womanizer.

When they learn that their coach has died, they all return to New England with their families for the funeral. Lenny rents the lake house for the 4th of July weekend for his friends to stay at, but Lenny can't stay for the whole weekend because Roxanne has a fashion show in Milan. While at the lake house, Lenny is annoyed that their kids would rather play video games than spend time outdoors, so he and the others force their kids to spend more time outside while at the house.
At a local restaurant, Lenny runs into his old nemesis Dickie Bailey (Colin Quinn), who works as a cook there. Dickie is still upset at Lenny because he allegedly had his foot out of bounds when he made the long-ago game winning shot and challenges him and his friends to a rematch, but Lenny declines, declaring it a waste of time. During dinner, the group discusses spreading the coach's ashes in the morning, but Lenny says he can't be there because of Roxanne's fashion show. Roxanne angrily storms off because Lenny painted her negatively. She allows him to spread the ashes, but demands they leave early the following morning.

In the morning, the five guys row out to an island to spread the ashes. When Rob is spreading the ashes, he breaks down and tells the guys that he screwed up his previous marriages and that he's nervous about meeting his daughters who are coming. When they get back to the house, they finally meet Rob's daughters, two of them, Jasmine and Amber, who seem too gorgeous to be Rob's, and one, Bridget, who very closely resembles him. To calm his nerves, the five guys play a game called "Arrow Roulette", in which an arrow is shot up into the air and the last person who runs away wins. Rob wins, but the arrow lands in his foot.

 

That evening, when Roxanne is packing, Becky's tooth falls out, but Roxanne is too busy to notice and she tells her that she'll put a dollar under her pillow later. When Becky asks why she would do it instead of the Tooth Fairy, Roxanne tells Lenny that she's worried that she ruined Becky's childhood. When Lenny hears his kids supposedly talking on their cellphones, he comes into their bedroom to find them actually talking on "cup phones" with the other kids. Happy that the kids are starting to have the same kind of fun he did at their age, he asks everyone to install cup phones around the house. Roxanne then tells Becky through the cup phone the truth about the Tooth Fairy.

In the morning while packing the car, Roxanne sees all the kids having fun down by the lake and decides that they can't leave the lake house. Happy with his wife's new attitude, Lenny decides they should head to a waterpark for a day. There, Bean learns to drink milk out of a carton, while Marcus flirts constantly with Jasmine and Amber, much to Rob's dismay. The group run into Dickie again, this time with one of his friends Wiley (Steve Buscemi), who ends up in the hospital after a zip line accident.

Back out the house, Deanne becomes suspicious of Kurt when she sees him spending time with Rita, Lenny's nanny. That evening, the adults spend time together drinking and dancing, while reminiscing about their pasts. In the morning, Rob suspects that Marcus had sex with either Jasmine or Amber or both of them and confronts him. Jasmine and Amber assure him that he didn't and Marcus assures him that he never would. Roxanne then confronts Lenny about the fact that he canceled their Milan plane reservations before the funeral behind her back. Lenny claims that he felt their time at the lake house was necessary because their kids were becoming too spoiled, but was unsure if Roxanne would go along with it. He tells her he won't lie to her again. Deanne confronts Kurt about supposedly flirting with Rita. Kurt assures her that he wasn't flirting with her, but he enjoyed having an actual conversation with her because he doesn't feel like he gets that with Deanne. Deanne offers to take him out on more dates. Eric then admits to the group that he isn't co-owner of a lawn furniture company and that he was laid off two months ago. He just didn't want everyone to think of him as a failure. Lenny resolves to offer Eric an investment opportunity. Gloria then tells everyone that despite their recent hostility, she senses love between everyone.

The group then head off to a 4th of July barbecue, where they are once again challenged by Dickie and his friends to a rematch of the basketball game. Wiley, in a massive body cast, had escaped intensive care to watch. Rob suggests that their coach would want them to take the challenge and despite everyone's being out of shape and Rob's injury, they agree to a game. The game is close, but most of the players get too tired to continue, leaving only Lenny and Dickie on the court. They bring out their sons to continue playing. When Lenny has the chance to make the game winning shot, he deliberately misses and allows Dickie to win, giving him a sense of victory. Lenny and the others take the loss in stride.

While watching the fireworks, a drunken Marcus decides to play another game of Arrow Roulette, causing everyone to run away, except for Wiley, who can't move, and the arrow lands in his foot and he passes out as the movie ends.

The delight of the movie was that veteran actresses looked ever young with the two hotties in Jamie Chung and Madison Riley was all just so great combination!

 

But of all of these my eyes only to 1 who always have made my heart race whenever I watch her on screen.

 

 

God she is freaking hot and pretty!!! Salma Hayek!!

She is freaking pretty ain't she? But then I still do know someone who is even prettier and hotter than this lady over here. Someone who could literally make my heart skip beats, stop, beat faster and even make me melt!

Cop Out~

Been like missing out on everything due to busy weeks with work while weekends too exhausted so end up hibernating so didn't really go out much. But eventually yesterday I managed to catch some time out with a few of my friends to go out drinking.

I so don't wanna talk about the drinking part as it was kinda lame.... But after done, we guys went to one of my mate's house to watch a movie. We had 2 options which was either Cop Out or Behind Enemy Lanes II but the rest opted to watch Cop Out.

 

Since I used to watch Bruce Willis alot, this movie was damn dumb! Hated it so much that I felt literally sober watching the movie. It was that bad! However if you were the type who loves the American Jokes then this is a movie to watch!

 

 

 

 

 

Well there isn't much to talk about this movie as it was kinda standard NYPD movie. Hoping to catch some new movies soon. Next week have 2 birthdays coming up so saturday next week seems like a busy week. Hopely would be able to get some pics so could post it up!! XD

The Last Song~

Ok I know yet another review.... But please bear with me for once more as this is the last review I've got in hand for now. In the mean time, here is the synopsis of the story.

At seventeen, Veronica "Ronnie" Miller (Miley Cyrus) remains as rebellious as she was the day after her parents' ugly divorce and father's subsequent relocation to Georgia three years ago. Once a classical piano child prodigy under the tutelage of her father, Steve Miller (Greg Kinnear), Ronnie now rejects the instrument and has not spoken to her father since he left. While Juilliard School has been interested in her since she was young, Ronnie refuses to attend.

Now, Steve is given the chance to reconnect with his estranged daughter when her mother, Kim (Kelly Preston) sends the rebellious teen and her younger brother, Jonah (Bobby Coleman), to spend the summer with him. Steve, a former Juilliard School professor and concert pianist, now lives a quiet life in Tybee Island, the small Georgia beach town where he grew up, working on a stained glass window for the local church to replace the one the church lost in a fire.

Upon arrival, Ronnie is miserable, hostile and defensive toward all those around her, including handsome, popular Will Blakelee (Liam Hemsworth) – until, after both she and Will become involved in protecting a Loggerhead Sea Turtle nest, she discovers he is deeper than she believed. As Ronnie falls in love with Will, she also manages to form a better, stronger bond with her father. As their relationship deepens, her father collapses with a coughing fit one day. Ronnie immediatley takes Steve to the hospital to realize that he had been diagnosed with cancer long before her summer visit. She decides to start spending more time with her father since he is not likely to live much longer. Around the same time Ronnie and Will get into a fight. And then Will leaves for college so there is no time to patch things up.

Steve has been working on a piece of music for quite a while, being the composer that he is. Fall comes and Jonah has to return to New York for the school year but Ronnie stays behind to take care of her father. Leading a slow life she tries to fill the three years of ignoring her father into a couple months. Finally, Steve's death comes along and Ronnie is heartbroken.

 

At his funeral she stands up to make a speech but declares that none of the speeches she wrote would ever be able to show how wonderful her father is. Instead, she finishes up the piece of music her father had been writing but never finished during his life.

 

After the funeral while Ronnie is talking to the attendants, she runs into Will. The two have a conversation and end up patching everything up. At the end of the movie Ronnie tells Will that she will be attending Juilliard for the second semester. Will surprises Ronnie by revealing that he will be transferring to Columbia the second semester also.

 Well that was the story mainly about. Kinda similar to "A Walk to Remember" in certain ways yet still the story is nice!! 2 THUMBS UP!! XD 

Kinda liked the way the couples came together as the story unfolded little by little though the reactions of both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth was kinda off abit at times. Nice story and certainly a must watch movie! 

Those thinking of a movie to watch, go look for this movie and watch it!!

Expendables~!

Today managed to catch The Expendables just before my baby darling went back to ipoh. We were kinda looking forward to watch this movie hence we "kan cheong" giler wanted to watch before she went back and was kinda shocked that TGV Sunway was kinda empty when we went this afternoon.

  

Overall though the storyline was abit weird, and also with all the wrestling like slams, it was quite good. Though it was kinda the "Rocky" feeling to the movie, nevertheless it was still good though not awesome! XD

  

  

 

 

 

 

 

Was looking for more action pics but couldn't really find those that really looked nice. The few mins cameo from Arnold was kinda awkward and hilarious at the same time. The sarcasm that was around was awesome though! 

It was a great idea to get all the heavyweights to be in 1 movie and would say that it kinda pay off though not all great time. 

The part that really impressed me was Stallone's body!

 

After all these years!! He still has it!! I was really admiring this particularly thing cz most of the stars with kinda good figure always lose by either gaining weight or having all sagged till so freaking disgusting.

I know it seems as if I am such a movie freak that I watch so many movies right? Well I rarely have this kinda moments and only when my baby is around and this time she was around and so ngam there were quite a number of new movies too... 

After this I am not sure when I'd see my baby again so till then might be having a movie drought season.... Hehehe...

Dear readers please dun run away yea... Would find some time to go and watch some movie if can....
