i came across this dress on the great wedding blog, the bride's cafe, and immediately fell in love. the designer is tara keely by lazaro and the rosy detailing is just lovely. i adore texture in gowns - depth, intricacies, layers - and this dress is a perfect example of how to do texture properly.

wedding wednesday: andie mcguire bridal

[yes, i know it's actually thursday.  i meant to post this yesterday but time got away from me when out at dinner with my favoritest (ex) assistant.  we even accomplished the impressive feat of being our waitor's first and last table!  so anyways, sorry for being a day late, please forgive me?]

i stumbled upon this lovely bridal designer on the blog, the bridal wishlist.  i looked through all of her simplistically beautiful designs and instantly fell in love with this dress, adeline.  with its corset-ish bodice and flouncy tulle-filled skirt, it's pretty much perfect. 

but wait!  i kept looking and found that there's another similar yet even more "kait" of a dress!  it's the same cut as adeline, except with a pink sash replacing the silk leaves as a waistband.  and the back's huge bow?  wow... love!  just look --

short, simple, & sweet.  my post and this dress.  just how i like it!

wedding wednesday: vera wang spring 2k12

colors!  draping!  layers!  ruffles!  texture!  bows!  volume!

if you can't tell already, i'm pretty excited about this collection.  vera is a true artist in that she never stops venturing out into new styles and is constantly reinventing herself in these innovative collections, while still staying true to her basic aesthetic.  as different as her spring/summer 2012 collection may be from the lovely, organza heavy, all-white fall 2010 collection i last posted about, it's still very vera.

*i hope you enjoyed these gorgeous dresses as much as i do!  on a completely unrelated note, i have much appreciated your input from the question i tagged onto a post a few days ago on whether i should make a second blog or incorporate more personal posts into this one.  it seems the general consensus is to incorporate, so incorporate i shall!  i especially loved megan's response that: "...your blog should be about what you enjoy and since I'm a big reader I think books are 'pretty things.' the bride got her dress from a local san francisco vintage shop, ver unica.  i'm madly in love with it, and the addition of bright yellow j. crew pumps!  love, love, love.
