fashion: LBD + leopard print scarf

annalynne mcord was spotted out and about shopping in L.A. and i'm completely in love with her casual style.  the LBD in question is super laid-back (not the traditional audrey-esque LBD we are used to, but i still want to add it in that category) and she paired it with comfy looking matching black flats, but what really pulls me in is the long leopard print scarf she added to give the look a pop.

now what is really drawing me in to the scarf is the way she is wearing it.  i'm a major scarf fan myself but i usually tie it more around my neck.  i know that the way annalynne is rocking her scarf is one potential way to do it, but i never really considered it for myself.  well, now that i've seen this particular look, i'm desperate to try it out for myself!  i'm not sure i have one quite long enough, but i really do want to try it.  i also have a cotton black dress that would look great with a scarf tied like this.  hopefully the outfit turns out as chic as hers!

on the list of things i love in life, here are just a few:

- reese witherspoon (i've idolized her since man on the moon)

- celebs who go the *minimal* route with makeup

- lace. especially black lace.

- marchesa

- LBD's that are intricate & interesting

so really, is it any wonder that i absolutely adore reese's look at the recent 2011 academy of country music awards?!!  no way, jose.

intro: for those of you not down with the abbreve, "UO" = "urban outfitters."  aka, my mecca.  or one of the many.  i'm an equal opportunity shopper.

anywho... reason #12387 [or something along those lines] why i love OU is their "12 days of dresses" campaign on their website/blog.  how cool is that!  here are my top 4:

 kimchi blue gosling dress [day 6] & cooperative swan dress [day 7]

silence & noise lords leaping dress [day 10] & cooperative pipers dress [day 11]

big surprise that my faves are solids, super fun, mostly black, girly, and structured.  predictable.  but soooo pretty!

the best part?  all are totally affordable.  unfortunately, this young chickadee is in no place to buy any dresses over about $20 [second-hand stores, here i come!].  still... lovely.  as usual.

the lovely sarah jessica parker in a dreamy marchesa dress back in march:

marchesa can do no wrong in my book.  this unique & frilly take on the traditionally structured LBD is a breath of fresh air.  love, love, looooove marchesa.

 i am *completely* obsessed with this whole look -- the smokey eyes with minimal other makeup, the starting-to-grow-out pixie cut, & that absolutely incredible lacey LBD.  that has a belt.  and sleeves.  sighhhhh. i just may be in love with carey mulligan as a result.  and her adorable little faces.
